Shakarji Sweets case study: creative work by DMANTRA
Dmantra is a full-service digital marketing agency helping brands build their identity, grow their digital presence, and connect with their audience. We have worked with more than 50 brands across various industries.
What we do: social media marketing, brand identity and packaging design, professional photography and videography, paid advertising and digital campaigns, website and app design and development.
The Taste of Damascus, Told for Today
Shakarji is a Syrian brand rooted in tradition, serving authentic sweets and savory classics. It began in 2020 as a small corner inside a Damascus mall, with nothing but a logo. Dmantra has been its digital partner since that first day, and still is.
Our Role
Extending the identity from the logo into packaging, boxes and bags. Complete menu design. Professional food photography, the first of its kind in Syria at the time. Social media strategy, from the Facebook launch to Instagram and reels. Today, Shakarji operates across Syria, the UAE, and Iraq, including a seasonal presence at Dubai’s Global Village.
The Work
Starting from the original logo, we extended Shakarji’s identity into a complete visual system of menus, packaging and a signature food photography style, consistent in every branch and every order.
Social Media
We launched on Facebook in 2020 with paid promotion across the largest local food communities and round-the-clock customer engagement. Our team collected real customer reviews in store and turned them into content that built trust fast, making Shakarji one of the most talked-about names in Damascus. We then launched its Instagram from zero and evolved the content from still photography into reels and video.
Reels
Every reel is produced in-house by Dmantra, from concept and filming to final edit.
Shakarji Sweets case study: from one mall corner to Syria, the UAE and Iraq
Shakarji is a Damascus sweets and savoury brand that started in 2020 as a small corner inside a mall, with nothing but a logo. DMANTRA has worked with it since that first day. This Shakarji Sweets case study shows what we built together: the identity applied to packaging and menus, a food photography style, and a social media presence that grew from a Facebook launch to Instagram and reels.
What we did
We extended the logo into a full visual system: boxes and bags, a complete menu design and professional food photography. On social media we launched Shakarji’s Facebook page with paid promotion in the largest local food communities, and we collected real customer reviews in the store and turned them into content. Later we launched its Instagram from zero and moved the content from still photos to reels, all filmed and edited by our team.
Shakarji now operates across Syria, the UAE and Iraq, including a seasonal presence at Global Village in Dubai. What other businesses can take from it
The work came in four steps: the identity carried onto boxes and bags, a full menu, a food photography style, and social media. The main lesson from this Shakarji Sweets case study is consistency. The same logo, colours and photo style appear on the packaging, the menu, the shop and every post, so customers recognise the brand before they read the name.
The second lesson is order. The brand grew one step at a time, starting with a single Facebook page and real customer reviews, and only later moving to Instagram and video. For a new shop in Damascus or anywhere else, that order keeps the budget small at the start and builds a kind of trust that paid ads alone cannot buy.
